Police Beat up Students of Kumasi Technical Institute

Students of the Kumasi Technical Institute (K.T.I.), yesterday, Tuesday, February 14, 2017 suffered the wrath of some policemen after yesterday’s session of the inter-schools athletics competition popularly termed as ‘inter-co’ held at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Kumasi.

According to sources close to Ghana Hot News, the K.T.I. students as part of jubilation to celebrate their qualification to the grand finale (i.e.: super-zonals) of the ‘inter-co’, they were sprinkling water and dropping other items on students of other schools present at the stadium as they usually do to bully their colleague learners.

Indeed, this is what they are noted for, according to the eye-witness account.

However, their jubilation was distorting vehicular traffic, and so the police intervened to ease traffic.

The students were resisting directives of the policemen, and so the police applied a little force to pave way for easy vehicular movement.

Rebellious students of K.T.I. hit back by throwing stones and other items at the policemen; this however provoked the policemen who chased the students to give them a lesson outside the classroom.

According to an eye-witness account, the policemen invaded the Kumasi technical institute (K.T.I.) campus and began beating up any student that came their way, leaving them with different degrees of injuries.

The headmaster, parents and guardians are expressing anxiety over this incident, as some of the students have been admitted at some hospitals close by.

The police public relations office is yet to give their account on this matter.
