The aftermath of the reading of the 2017 budget of the Nana Addo-led government of the Republic of Ghana as read on March 2, by finance minister, Mr. Ken Ofori Ata, has called for jubilation among most associations and individuals in the country essay-jedi.net of which Importers and Exporters Association of Ghana have also declared their profound gratitude to the President Nana Akuffo Addo and his government.
The Executive Secretary of Importers and Exporters Association of Ghana, Mr. Samson Awingobit Asaki, in an interview on United Television’s (UTV) Adekye Nsroma indicated that President Nana Addo and his government has done extremely well in fulfilling their promises uttered in their manifesto and has described it as ‘Ahoto (comfortable) Budget’.
“This will help to lessen the financial burden of all Ghanaians and cushion all importers and exporters to be able to ship-in goods in huge quantities to speed up the development of our dear nation, Ghana”, he opined.
Mr. Awingobit also stated that most affluence in our country normally seeks for best health delivery from abroad due to the inefficacy of some expensive drugs we can not import to Ghana because of high tax levied on those drugs to secure our well living but now all those huge taxes are out coverage, we can also get access to better health delivery in our country without travelling abroad.
“We are going to make sure that importers use this opportunity not to import products to Ghana haphazardly without considering the quality rather quantity to be circumvented to make way for right goods in Ghana”, he lamented.
Mr. Asaki concluded that, all importers and exporter should consider and make the policy takes effect when they are done implemented to ensure the smooth transfer of goods to consumers.
“We are praying that Parliament will expedite the implementation to help all Ghanaians, God bless our motherland Ghana”, he stated
